Ahmadinejad felicitates Japan on National Day

TEHRAN (IRNA) -- President Mahmud Ahmadinejad on Sunday expressed felicitations to Japanese Emperor Akihito on the country's National Day.

In his message, Ahmadinejad said that Iran and Japan enjoy deep historical bonds, expressing hope that such bonds would continue in line with preserving the two countries' mutual interests, as well as establishing peace and international security.
Meanwhile, the Iranian president, in his message, congratulated the Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda, the government, and nation on the auspicious occasion.
