TEHRAN (Press TV) -- Silence of Islamic countries on the Zionist regime’s crimes has led to further escalation of the situation in Gaza, Iranian MP says.
Deputy Head of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Mohammad-Nabi Rudaki, told ISNA that Islamic states should make use of their economic and political potential to counter the brutal acts of the Zionist regime in Gaza. The UN Security Council recently held a session at the request of the Arab League but it failed to pass a resolution against the Zionist regime, primarily because of the U.S. pressure, he added.
The MP called on member states of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to hold a session specifically dedicated to the Gaza crisis.
Rudaki expressed hope that the rights of the Palestinian people would be restored through the all-out use of capabilities available to the Islamic countries and the support of Muslims across the world for the oppressed people of Palestine.
