TEHRAN – In a ceremony on Tuesday President Mahmud Ahmadinejad officially appointed Hossein Samsami as acting minister of economic affairs and finance.

Samsami replaced Davud Danesh-Jafari whom president appointed as his top economic advisor.
Samsami was the secretary of the cabinet economic committee. He has a PhD in economics from Shahid Beheshti University.
However, at the farewell ceremony Danesh-Jafari complained that despite his opposition unqualified persons were appointed to high economic positions.
He also blamed high liquidity for rising inflation
