Iraqi output to exceed 2.5 million barrels a day: minister

Iraq’s oil production will exceed 2.5 million barrels a day this month, Oil Minister Hussein al- Shahristani said in an interview on al-Arabiya.
Iraq in May produced at a rate of almost 2.5 million barrels a day, up from an average of 1.9 million barrels a day for 2007, the minister said, according to the Dubai-based television channel. Iraq had $36 billion in revenue for the first half of the year from oil sales, he said.Iraq in May produced at a rate of 2.49 million barrels a day, according to Bloomberg estimates.
