TEHRAN -- Iranian Azeri music expert and vocalist Vadud Mo’azzenzadeh expressed regret over ignoring Azeri music in the country.

Mo’azzenzadeh who sings in Azeri language stated that neighboring countries of Azeri origin would make benefit from this ignorance, the Persian service of CHN reported on Monday.
“In a time when foreigners are trying to posses our cultural heritage, ignoring Azeri music and its high potential would lead to irreparable results,” added Mo’azzenzadeh who performed the soundtracks for “Shahriar”, Kamal Tabrizi’s TV series about gifted Iranian contemporary poet composing poetry in Azeri language.
Mo’azzenzadeh pinpointed that holding regional music festivals and paying tribute to veterans of Azeri music would help preserve Iranian Azeri music.
This would help prevent the possession of our traditional Iranian music by neighboring countries, he concluded.
