TEHRAN -- Paintings created by Mexican artist Eugenia Marcos were on display during an exhibition from July 24 to 31 at the Mexico Embassy in Tehran.

Entitled “The Colors of the Flavors”, the exhibit consisted of 36 paintings that consist of various kinds of colorful Mexican food ingredients and flavors.
She tries to represent traditional Mexican cuisine through the use of combinations of chilies, onions and various fruits in her paintings.
“Painting is like telling a story. The characters in the stories that I tell during this time of my life are mostly vegetables, and they are linked to another creative form and that is the culinary arts. This is why the two are so intimately related: I paint what I cook,” she mentioned in her website
“The fragrance of fruits, spices, and chilies in a marketplace, provoke the passion that makes me want to combine and transform them into delicious dishes and canvases. Cooking and painting require total commitment and when shared with others, the pleasure multiplies.”
Marcos has previously showcased her works in several Asian countries including China, Taiwan and Thailand in recent years.
