Nateq-Nouri says many managers aligned to him were dismissed after 1997 poll

TEHRAN - Former Majlis Speaker Ali Akbar Nateq-Nouri said on Monday that many of his supporters were left out after Mohammad Khatami won the 1977 presidential election despite the fact that he had the fullest cooperation with the administration as the Majlis speaker.
Akbar Nategh Nouri made the remarks in a meeting with the Democracy Party secretary general and the party’s central council members.Nateq-Nouri, as the candidate of conservatives, was Khatami’s main rival in the 1997 elections.
“I congratulated Mr. Khatami before the counting of votes was over. And in the Fifth Majlis, as conceded by Mr. Khatami himself, we had the best interaction with the administration. However, after the Second Khordad (May 22) election many of my supporters were removed” from managerial posts
