BARNSLEY, England, April 26 (MNA) -- Barnsley’s Iranian midfielder Andranik Teymourian is looking forward to playing for newly appointed coach Afshin Ghotbi.

“When I joined Barnsley, my aim was getting playing time, since Fulham had obtained excellent results and it was difficult to make it into the main team. I am pleased that I have played in more than ten matches for Barnsley, except in the last one , when I had cold”, said Teymourian, who is on a loan transfer deal with Championship side Barnsley, according to Persianfootball.com.
“Barnsley is now ranked 21th with two remaining matches. We have to win these matches to avoid the relegation. We have a good team and certainly have the ability to remain in the championship”, he added.
Asked if he will come back to Fulham at the end of the season, Andranik said, “My contract runs out next year and I would like to return to Fulham. Meanwhile, the contract allows me a transfer to a different club if I’ll have an offer. I would consider other offers in case I wouldn’t be included in Fulham’s main squad.”
“I have now learned English very well and also adapted to the English football style. My priority is remaining in the Premier League which is the best in the world. I have great ambitions.”
Ando who has not played for Iran since the away game against Saudi Arabia in September 2008, continued: “I only missed three national team matches in the last four years, namely North Korea, South Korea and return game against Saudi Arabia. I couldn’t play against North Korea due to injury and I informed Ali Daei. Subsequently, the technical staff preferred to try different players.
I would like to wear national team’s jersey again. Like all other Iranian players, it is a dream to play for my homeland and I hope that this will happen soon.”
“I have never worked with Ghotbi, but by following Persepolis news in the last season, I came to know that he is a popular coach who has worked with great coaches like Hiddink and Verbeek. IFF has done the right decision by appointing him. We all have to support him in order to qualify to the World Cup.
