Ghazanfari’s 8-point plan for Ministry of Commerce

TEHRAN – Newly suggested Minister of Commerce Mehdi Ghazanfari has announced an 8-point plan for the office.
The Mehr news agency reported him saying that the commerce sector takes account of vast and various features which have an encompassing nature.He added that commerce in its general sense consists of all measures applied for controlling supply and demand, adjusting prices, providing common necessities, guiding foreign trade in line with the realization of economic development plans and offering prosperity to all walks of society.
He summarized the ministry’s activities based on the following eight points:
1- Easing trade and reducing unofficial transactions;
2- Expanding trade and supporting the export of non-oil goods and services;
3- Joining and enhancing our membership in regional and international trade unions;
4- Developing electronic commerce and using the latest technology;
5- Increasing efficiency and renovating distribution networks in the trade sector;
6- Reasonable regulation of the market (regulation of goods and services market);
7- Increasing effectiveness of subsidies; and
8- Modifying structures and creating competent human resources.
These eight points have been divided into two general fields of foreign and domestic trade and an operational plan has been devised for each.
