13 Iranian pop bands to compete in Fajr Music Festival

TEHRAN -- Thirteen pop music bands were selected for the competition section of the 25th Fajr International Music Festival.
The bands were selected from among 35 groups said board of selection member Keivan Mirhadi.
The band “Tehran Conservatoire” is the only female pop band participating in the side-section.
Simon Ayvazian and Amir Bakan are other members of the board of the festival, which runs from February 26 to March 5.
Shia Encyclopedia founder Fahimeh Mohebbi dies
TEHRAN -- Fahimeh Mohebbi, the founder of the Shia Encyclopedia, died on Sunday at age 76. She was suffering from blood cancer.
Mohebbi, the wife of martyr Mohebbi, established the encyclopedia with funding provided by her husband after he was martyred in 1980 during the Iran-Iraq war.
A total of 14 volumes of the encyclopedia have so far been published and its 15th volume is ready for publication.
The encyclopedia is being supervised by Bahaeddin Khorramshahi, Kamran Fani, and Sadr Haj-Seyyed Javadi..
