TEHRAN – Hossein Sheikholeslam will soon take over as the chief of the International Conference on Support for Palestinian Intifada, replacing Ali Akbar Mohtashamipour.

According to reports, Sheikholeslam will take over the post by the end of the week.
The news of appointment broke out as, in an open session of the Majlis on Sunday, MP Hamid Rasaei reminded that Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani should appoint the new chief of the center for supporting the Palestinian intifada in which Mohammad Reza Bahonar, the Majlis deputy speaker, replied that the appointment has taken place and will be announced soon.
Mohtashamipour is a veteran diplomat. Like Mohtashamipour, Mohtashamipour also served as Iran’s ambassador to Damascus
