TEHRAN – A two-day conference on investment opportunities in Iran kicked off in Qatar’s capital city Doha on Wednesday.

A package of 38 projects worth $18.5 billion in steel, cement, agriculture, food, and tourism sectors has been offered to Qatari investors in the conference, IRINN news agency reported.
Commerce Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari, heading an economic delegation, has taken part in the event. Four joint meetings in the fields of agriculture and food, construction and cement, steel, and tourism industries are to be held on the sidelines of the conference.
Ghazanfari is also scheduled to inaugurate Iran's exclusive expo dubbed ""Made in Iran Exhibition"" in Doha today to showcase Iran’s achievements in various fields. The expo will run till May 16.
Some 140 Iranian companies will display a wide range of products and services in different fields such as aeronautics, technical and engineering, electricity, water, oil, gas, petrochemicals, carpets, handicrafts, plants and medical equipment in the exhibition.
The outstanding economic potential of Qatar alongside its excellent and growing political relations with Iran has created an array of opportunities for the two sides to increase trade and joint investments
