Iran basketball 3-on-3 defeats Egypt in YOG

SINGAPORE - Iran basketball 3-on-3 beats Egypt in the first day of the 2010 Youth Olympic Games on Sunday.

The Iranians defeated the Egyptians 27-21 in Group B. Iran is scheduled to play Lithuania on Monday.
A total of 16 basketball teams are participating in four groups in the event.
“Iran deserved the win against Egypt but my team can show a better performance in the upcoming matches. We are going to earn a medal in the event,” Iran coach Ghasem Kiani said.
The 2010 Youth Olympic Games has brought together 3,600 athletes ages 14 to 18 from 204 countries competing in 26 sports
