TEHRAN -- Iranian cinema and television actor Reza Khandan died of heart failure Saturday October 1. He was suffering from chronic kidney disease. Khandan was 57.

His body was transferred to Ahvaz on Monday where he was buried, his brother Jamshid told MNA.
“Reza was suffering from kidney disease. He lost one of his kidneys and had been on dialysis for the past few months. Reza was not feeling good on Saturday night but refused to go to hospital despite his family’s insistence and died of heart failure at midnight,” said Jamshid as he broke down and wept for the loss of his brother.
Reza Khandan was born in 1953 in Shushtar, Khuzestan Province. He was a graduate of dramatic arts from the University of Tehran and began his artistic career in Ahvaz.
His first appearance was in the movie “Lost” by Mohammad-Ali Sajjadi in 1987.
His other credits include “Snake Fang” by Masud Kimiaii, “Passion of Love” by Nader Moqaddas, “Two Women” by Tahmineh Milani, and “Parole” by Mehdi Nurbakhsh.
He also played the role of Sanan ibn-e Anas in Davud Mirbaqeri’s historical TV series “Mokhtarnameh” which went on the air Friday.
