TUNIS (Xinhua) -- Tunisia's interim Prime Minister Beji Caid Essebsi unveiled Monday the lineup of the new government, the official press agency TAP reported.

The new government, composed of 22 ministers and nine junior ministers, is tasked with leading the country through its democratic transition until the election of the country's first constituent assembly on July 24.
None of the government members can be elected for the assembly.
In a related event, the interior ministry announced the suppression of the country's political police and state security apparatus, as demanded by protestors after the ouster of former president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali who fled the country on January 14.
