Iranian scholar Seyyed Ali Musavi dies
TEHRAN -- Iranian scholar Seyyed Ali Musavi Behbahani, who was mostly known for his efforts in correcting old manuscript books, died at the age of 84 on Tuesday.He collaborated with author of “God and Man in the Qoran” Toshihiko Izutsu in correcting “Book of Embers”, Mir Damad’s book on dispensation.
He was also a professor of the Islamic studies at the Utrecht University, which is one of the oldest academic centers in the Netherlands.
Dushanbe to host Iranian cultural week
TEHRAN -- Iranian art and culture will come into spotlight during a weeklong program in Tajikistani capital Dushanbe in Noruz.
As a part of the program, which will begin on March 22, works of artists Gholam-Ali Taheri, Saeid Fallahfar, Jalil Jokar, Mohsen Rastani, Ehsan Qa’emi, Gholam-Hossein Altafi and Mohammad Moradi will be put on display in an exhibition..
