Serie A strugglers Parma have fired coach Pasquale Marino after the 2-1 home defeat at the hands of bottom club Bari.

The result leaves the Gialloblu just two points above the relegation zone with seven games of the season remaining.
A statement from the club confirmed: ''Parma FC announce the removal of coach Pasquale Marino from his position. We thank Mr Marino for the work done and professionalism shown. The name of the new coach will be released later.''
The club's chief executive Pietro Leonardi told the club's official website: ''We don't want any more excuses. We have taken this decision to put the responsibility back on to the team.''
Marino, who had previously coached Catania and Udinese, signed a year-long contract in June last year. However, the club have slipped into relegation trouble on the back of a poor recent run of results - their last 10 games have yielded just seven points.
