TEHRAN -- An Iranian scholar has recently completed a book, which brings to light some Iranian musical instruments for children.
“Friendship with Iranian Musical Instruments” will be published by the Art Bureau of the Islamic Ideology Dissemination Organization. The bureau plans to offer the book at the Tehran International Book Fair in May.“Since I am interested in Iranian instruments--I myself play setar--and due to the profound influence music has on children, I decided to target the book for this age group,” author Fatemeh Maleki said in a press release on Saturday.
The book contains information, which has been simplified for children, about more than 20 instruments. The book will be available with a CD, upon which the instruments will be recorded in high quality sound.
Some relevant computer games and musical exercises will also be added to the CD’s contents to entice children to read the book.
The book has been illustrated by Elaheh Taherian and typographic effects have been prepared by Mahmud Hosseini.
