TEHRAN – The Iranian-Lebanese joint production “Songs of My Land” and TV series “Seventh Angle” won the best film and best TV series awards at the XVII International Festival of Detective Films –DetectiveFEST, organizers announced on Saturday.

Abbas Rafei, director of “Songs of My Land”, also received an honorable mention for the film, while actress Sara Sofiani was honored for her role in the TV series “Seventh Angle” by producer Amir-Hossein Sharifi.

“Songs of My Land” is about a romance between a Muslim man and a Christian woman, which develops after an ISIL attack on their village in Syria.

“Seventh Angle” directed by Mahmud Moazzami tells the story of a bank robbery in Tehran.

“Songs of My Land” was screened at Dom Kino Cinema House, which is the Russian Filmmakers’ Union in Moscow, and filmgoers warmly received the movie.

Iran’s ambassador Mehdi Sanaii also watched the film with the filmgoers and the peace medal of the festival was handed to Sharifi by the president of the festival Yuri Mityshin.
