Abadan photo exhibit highlights liberation of Khorramshahr

Tehran – A large collection of photographs on the theme of the liberation of Khorramshahr from Iraqi forces on May 24, 1982 opened at the Abadan Museum of Contemporary Art on Sunday.
The exhibit is displaying works by Mahmud Farnud, Mohsen Rastani, Kazem Akhavan, Mohsen Chubdaar, Rasul Mollaqolipur and Rasul Sadr-Ameli.

A port city in southwestern Iranian Khuzestan Province, Khorramshahr was captured by Iraqis on October 26, 1980 during the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war.


Photo, cartoon exhibit reviews urban space

TEHRAN – A photo and cartoon exhibition, which reviews urban space and structures and opened on Sunday, is currently underway at the Iranian Artists Forum.

Over 200 works are on display at the showcase entitled the Exhibition of Urban Space and Structures.

The exhibit, which aims to lay the groundwork for further urban aesthetics and a safer environment, will end on May 30.


Payam-e Rey Publishing House to start with “Persienflug”

TEHRAN – A new Iranian publishing house entitled Payam-e Rey is scheduled to begin working with publishing Swiss aviation pioneer Walter Mittelholzer’s “Persienflug” (“Persia Flight”).

Rendered into Persian by Seyyed Saeid Firuzabadi, the book contains the account of Mittelholzer’s journey to Iran in the early 19th-century.

Mittelholzer (1894-1937) was also active as a photographer, travel writer and also was one of the first aviation entrepreneurs.


Scandinavian countries to hold cultural festival in Tehran

TEHRAN – Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway plan to hold a joint cultural festival in Tehran from June 7 to 16.

Many art exhibitions will be arranged by the countries during the festival, which will take place at the Iranian Artists Forum.
