TEHRAN – Fans and friends gathered at Tehran’s Tarrahan-e Azad Gallery to celebrate the 54th birthday of Iranian actress Fatemeh Motamed-Arya on Thursday.

“I feel happy to be surrounded by friends and colleagues on my birthday,” Motamed-Arya said at the ceremony.

“I have not attended such events for many years, but today a number of friends arranged the ceremony and helped me see my good friends after all these years of separation and silence. Their presence really made me happy,” she added.

“This is a good reason to get together and see many good friends after all this weariness and silence, and I really feel good and will never forget today,” she said.

The actress wished a happy and healthy life for all her friends and asked them to be together and like each other, the Persian service of MNA reported on Friday.

Cineastes Bahman Farmanara, Atila Pesyani, Saman Moqadam, Seifollah Samadian and Kamran Tafti were among the participating guests.

Motamed-Arya has been nominated for the Best Performance by an Actress award at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards for her role in Iranian director Morteza Farshbaf’s acclaimed drama, “Avalanche”.

She has received the nomination for the portrayal of Homa, a highly appreciated and respected senior nurse who works in a private hospital in Iran.
