TEHRAN -- The European Documentary Network (EDN) will organize specialized workshops during the 9th Cinéma Vérité, the Iranian international festival for documentary films, which will be held in Tehran from December 13 to 19.

The workshops entitled “DocPro” will be held at the Iranian Academy of Arts from December 17 to 19, Iran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), which is the main organizer of the festival, announced in press released on Wednesday.

Ways to promote Iranian documentary films at international events and markets will be discussed by experts from the EDN at the workshops.

In early November, the DEFC announced that the organization will assess plots from those filmmakers who are seeking the European Documentary Network’s sponsorship for production during the Cinéma Vérité festival.

Eight to ten works will gain EDN sponsorship during the closing ceremony of the festival on December 19.

Based in Copenhagen, the European Documentary Network is a global network for professionals working with documentary film and TV.

The network provides documentary consulting and informs about possibilities for funding, financing, development, co-production, distribution and collaboration across borders.

The motto of the 9th Cinéma Vérité in “Truth Is the Best Guide”, which is one of the discourses of Imam Ali (AS).
