TEHRAN – A number of Iranian movies are competing in various sections of the 14th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF), which is currently underway in the Bangladeshi capital.

“I Am Not Angry” directed by Reza Dormishian, “Three Fish” by Hamidreza Qorbani, “Tajrish … An Unfinished” by Puria Azarbaijani are on screen in the Australasian Film Competition.

“Paternal House” by Kianush Ayyari is the sole Iranian film in the Cinema of the World section while “Death of the Fish” by Ruhollah Hafezi and “Today” by Reza Mirkarimi are among the competitors in the Spiritual Section.

The lineup for the Spiritual Section also includes “A Cold Day” by Mohammad-Ali Talebi, “Mother’s Blue Sky” by Ali Qavitan and “Escape from the Castle” by Gholamreza Ramezani.

Narges Abyar’s “Track 143”, Baran Sarmadi’s “Must Be Black”, “Tragedy” by Azita Mugui and “No One Does Not Speak” have been selected for the Women Filmmakers Section.

Over 170 movies from about 60 countries are competing in the festival that runs until January 22 with the motto of “Better Film, Better Audience, Better Society”.
