TEHRAN – The Prague-based French producer Steve Reverand said that the spectacular focus on screenplays and the way Iranian directors tell a story in great detail in their films are appealing to him.

Reverand is currently in Tehran to promote his short film “Occasional Showers” by Iranian director Kaveh Daneshmand at the 34th Fajr International Film Festival, the organizers announced on Saturday.

He owns the Lab Studio, a production company based in Prague, where he discovered Iranian cinema and met Daneshmand.

“Occasional Showers” tells the story of a family, which is on a road trip in a torrential rain. The family is on the brink of breaking apart.

Reverand who has also worked as a film editor, said that the production area is something else. He likes to help young directors with new voices and help them present their ideas through their movies.

On his knowledge of Iranian cinema, he said that he has seen some movies by Asghar Farhadi, Ali Mosaffa and some works by young Iranian directors.
