TEHRAN -- Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Hamid Shahabadi accepted director of the General Office for Dramatic Arts Hossein Mosafer Astaneh’s resignation on Monday.
Mosafer Astaneh quit his job on September 3 due a divergence of opinion between him and Shahabadi in the way of administration.
However, the Persian service of MNA announced quoting an informed source last week that Mosafer Astaneh would continue his job based on talks held between him and Shahabadi.
“My conditions were not adaptable to what the deputy culture minister said… With respect to his opinions, I do not wish to remain at the General Office for Dramatic Arts any more,” Mosafer Astaneh told the MNA on Monday.
This is the second official who has resigned from office over the past few weeks.
Fajr International Theater Festival secretary Mohammad Heidari quit his job in late August, but gave no reason for his resignation.
A number of Iranian stage artists sent letters to Shahabadi, asking him to explain about the resignations at his office. However, there have been no replies to these letters so far.
Mosafer Astaneh plans to resume his career in theater by staging “All Mornings of the Earth” at the Iranshahr Theater Complex in October.
