World Wrestling Federations officials on Sunday selected Iran’s Mohammad Bana as the Greco-Roman wrestling coach of the year 2011. Iran Greco-Roman wrestling team performed well under the guidance of Bana in Istanbul in September. The team finished third behind Russia and Turkey as well as earned three Olympic places -- the quota reserved for Iran.
“This award belongs to all the Iranian people and the coaches who try hard to find new talent. I am their representative and dedicate my award to them,” Bana said.
Zeke Jones from the United States was named as freestyle wrestling coach of the year.
