Iran intends to sell cars in Dagestan

MAKHACHKALA-- Last week the Minister for National Policy, Religious Affairs and External Relations RD Bekmurza Bekmurzaev together with a large delegation of the Ministry of Regional Development RF paid a working visit to Iran.
As to B.Bekmurzaev, during the trip the representatives of both countries agreed on many points of mutual economic cooperation between Iran and Russia, as well as in Dagestan in particular.
The parties received information delivered by the representatives of provinces of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Eastern Azerbaijan, Isfahan, Khorasan, Razavi, Khuzestan, Qazvin, Gilan, Mazandaran, Lezd) and the Russian Federation (Dagestan, Astrakhan Oblast, Chuvash Republic, the Chechen Republic, St. Petersburg) on the status and prospects of regional cooperation in trade, education, agriculture, transport, industry, tourism and mining.
"In order to develop an international transport corridor "North-South" the parties agreed to consider the possibility of co-operation among the international trading port of Makhachkala and the northern ports of Iran and the use of transport and logistics capabilities of two regions of the country for the transit of Russian and Iranian products to the third party countries" - B.Bekmurzaev noted.
In the course of meetings the parties supported the proposal of the Republic of Dagestan concerning the draft action plan ("Roadmap") aimed at the development of cooperation of the Republic of Dagestan with the interested provinces of Iran and its further development in case of its successful implementation.
In those very days there was considered a possibility of creating "Iranian trading house" in Astrakhan, a "Marketplace" in the city of Makhachkala and a leasing company for the financial support of cars produced in Iran in the Republic of Dagestan.
