“Time passes quickly,” Zonuzi-Jalali said after accepting his award during a ceremony held at the Andisheh Hall of the Art Bureau on Saturday.
“Thirty years of my life also passed by very fast,” he added and expressed his hope that he would be able to complete his unfinished works before his death.
Zonuzi-Jalali who is suffering from lung cancer is currently working on his novels “Destinies” and “The Hidden Sun”.
His “The Rule of the Game” won the award for best novel at the 26th edition of the Islamic Republic of Iran Book of the Year Awards last year.
This year, the juries in the various categories at the 14th Golden Pen Awards, which is organized annually by Iran’s Pen Association, only presented some honorable mentions to several works.
