Russian president pardons 2 Iranian convicts

TEHRAN – Russian President Vladimir Putin has pardoned two Iranian convicts on the eve of his meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in Baku, Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei has announced.
Sanaei wrote on his Instagram page that the two, who were arrested three years ago, were convicted to serve 12 and 14 years in prison.
The Iranian embassy to Moscow was pursuing the issue of their freedom during the last two years, Sanaei added.
