LNG projects still lucrative for Iran, region: official

TEHRAN – Conducting liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects in Iran and other countries in the region could still be profitable, Shana quoted Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) Mohammad Hossein Adeli as saying on Tuesday.

Estimates show that the demand for LNG will grow faster than overall demand for gas in near future, thus gas-producing countries are moving toward development of this industry, Adeli said.

In recent months, several Asian and European companies have been negotiating with Iran to participate in the completion and commissioning of LNG projects.
