Iran police launches elite women division

TEHRAN – The Iranian police have set up a women’s division within its Special Forces. 

The news was announced on Monday by Brigadier-General Hassan Karami, commander of NAJA Special Forces, ILNA reported.

“The pillars and commanders of the forces were drawn from the official personnel of the police, but the rank and file are honorary police,” he said.

“They undergo due education and various courses, one of which was carried out recently which consisted of parachuting.”
