Iran 3X3 basketball team head to Malaysia

Iran four-man team left Tehran Tuesday night to take part at the 3rd Asian University 3X3 Basketball Championship 2017.

The competition will be held in Nilai, Malaysia from April 12 to 16.

A total of 11 teams will participate in the five-day event.

Iran have been drawn in Group A along with the Philippines, China B, Indonesia, Malaysia 2 and Mongolia.

Malaysia A, China A, Nepal, Thailand and Macau are in Group B.

Iranian team consists of Mohammad Khoramshahi, Mojtaba Khosravi, Shayan Pourkaveh and Mohammad Yazdanpanah in the event.

Iran’s Payam-e Noor University finished in first place in the second edition of the competition which was held in Macau.

The 3x3 basketball is a form of the game played three a side on one hoop. It is the largest urban team sport of the world.

The FIBA 3x3 World Championships is the highest tournament for national 3x3 teams.
