Farj unveils lineup for Retrospective of Georgian Cinema

TEHRAN – The 36th Fajr International Film Festival has announced the lineup for the Retrospective of Georgian Cinema, a program planned to review movies by Georgian filmmakers.

Five films, including George Ovashvili’s “Khibula” that depicts the final days of the first Georgian President Zviad Gamsakhurdia, have been selected to screen in the program.
 
Iranian actor Hossein Mahjub portrays Gamsakhurdia in the movie that is based on a true story.

Other films are “Luka” by Giorgi Barabadze, “House of Others” by Rusudan Glurjidze, “Scary Mother” by Ana Urushadze and “Dede” by Mariam Khatchvani.

The festival also plans to organize a review of Italian cinema during a special program this year.

The 36th edition of the Fajr festival will be held in Tehran from April 19 to 27.
