TEHRAN – Iran advanced to the 2018 Beach Handball World Championships quarter-final in the Russian city of Kazan on Friday.

The Iranian team finished in fourth place of Group I despite losing 2-1 to Hungary.

Defending champions Croatia topped of the main round Group I after beating Spain 2-1.

Iran will play Sweden on Saturday in the competition’s quarter-final.

The six days of competition is being held at the Kazan Beach Sports Complex, in Kazan, Russia from July 24 to 29.
