TEHRAN – EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini and French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian separately met with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in New York on Monday, IRNA reported.

During their meetings, the sides discussed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) – the Iran nuclear deal – and the meeting of the foreign ministers of countries party to the deal in New York. 

Zarif was accompanied by his deputy on political affairs Abbas Araqchi, while Mogherini’s deputy, Helga Schmid, was also present at the meeting. 

The Iranian foreign minister arrived in New York on Sunday along with President Hassan Rouhani to attend in the 73rd UN General Assembly session.
