Majlis submits Palermo, money laundering bills to Expediency Council

October 24, 2018 - 20:56

TEHRAN – Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani has submitted the bills on accession to the UNTOC, known as the Palermo Convention, and anti-money laundering act to the Expediency Council.

In two separate letters to Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Hashemi Shahroudi, Larijani handed the bills for further inspection and taking necessary measures in this regard, Mehr reported on Wednesday.

The Parliament had approved the bill on joining the Palermo Convention, but the bill was rejected by the Guardian Council. However, the Parliament insisted on its decision, which brought the Expediency Council to make the final decision.
