TEHRAN - Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Thursday that the U.S. has transferred a large number of ISIS terrorists to Afghanistan to cause chaos in other parts of Asia.

Larijani made the remarks during a meeting with Chen Zu, the vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People’s Congress.

Larijani also said Tehran attaches great importance to cooperation among Iran, China, Pakistan, Turkey, Russia and Afghanistan in fighting terrorism.

The Majlis speaker also praised growing ties between Tehran and Beijing.

For his part, Chen said that China seeks long-term relationship with Iran. He noted that China is eager to invest in Iran’s various projects.

Chen added China will make efforts to facilitate banking transactions with Iran now that the United States has withdrawn from the 2015 nuclear deal and reimposed sanctions on Iran.

Chen is in Tehran to attend a second anti-terrorism conference of top parliamentarians from Iran, China, Pakistan, Turkey, Russia, and Afghanistan.

The conference was scheduled to be held on Friday and Saturday.
