Russian Researchers Discuss Caspian Sea Problems

MOSCOW A group of scholars from the Russian Academy of Sciences urged colleagues from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to establish the organization of the Caspian Sea states for the complex mastering of natural resources and environmental protection.
The text of the address was received by ITAR-TASS from the Russian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.
We are confident that the urgent support for the establishment of a new collective body will help prevent a threat of a social and ecological catastrophes in the Caspian Sea region, the document says.
Leading Russian scholars also stated their readiness to give the organization of the Caspian Sea states all power of the accumulated scientific potential of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Original Researches and Developments, Knowledge and Experience, the address notes.
