TEHRAN - Head of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) Jalil Salari said the company has signed contracts worth €70 million with domestic companies to develop refining and distribution sectors.

Speaking at a ceremony for unveiling new Iranian-made payment systems for gas stations on Tuesday, Salari said most of the mentioned deals have been signed with knowledge-based companies, Mehr News Agency reported.

Mentioning the new card readers made by domestic knowledge-based companies for use at the country’s gas stations, the official said: “A continuous effort was made for a year and we supported the young researchers and Iranian companies until today we are witnessing the unveiling of the Iranian card readers of the fuel distribution system.”

“We have indigenized the knowledge of improving the quality of fuel oil and the production of catalysts, and now we are looking to increase the role of knowledge-based companies in refining and distribution sectors,” he added.
