DFLP, PFLP Call For Armed Struggle for Liberation of Palestine

September 12, 2000 - 0:0
As expected, Palestinian Leader Yasser Arafat postponed the declaration of an independent Palestinian state on Sunday.
Yesterday it was decided that fresh talks between the Zionist entity and Palestinians will be resumed, but when, where, and why remain shrouded in uncertainty.
As far as when' and where' are concerned we have the answers.
But no one knows why', as the Zionist entity, fully supported by the United States, would never abide by its signature on the 1993 Oslo Accords.
An Egyptian daily said, "Israel knows no language other than force." Aside from the Oslo Accords there have been several UN Security Council resolutions stating that Israel should withdraw to the pre-June, 1967 borders including East Bait-ul-Moqaddas. All Palestinians living in other countries should be allowed to return to their homeland.
Two major factions of the Palestinian Central Council (PCC), including the Democratic Front for Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), opposed postponement of statehood when they met in Gaza on Sunday.
DFLP and PFLP have their genuine reasons for opposing postponement of the plan for statehood that was due to be announced by Arafat on Sept. 13. They believe that occupation of Palestinian lands will not end through negotiations.
They referred to past experience when all efforts for a peaceful solution to the problem were doomed to failure.
The postponement decision was welcomed by Israel, which declared it a victory. Others, including the United States and Britain, also welcomed the postponement.
It was all expected. DFLP and PFLP believe that the plan for further negotiations is nothing but a waste of time. We should return to armed struggle'.
