Isfahan hosts 2nd ACD conference

TEHRAN - The 2nd conference of chambers of commerce of Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) member states opened in the Iranian central city of Isfahan on Monday.

The two-day event was hosted by the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture.

The conference themed “A More Empowered and Unified Asia through Modern Technologies” was aimed to forge dialogue among member chambers of commerce.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vice President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Mohammadreza Bahraman stressed that more cooperation among the private sectors of Asian countries would increase cooperation among the governments and help regional de-escalation.

He noted that cooperation among private sectors will lead to further unity among countries and help further cooperation in different social, economic, cultural, and environmental areas.

Bahraman welcomed the guests and voiced the readiness of the Iran Chamber of Commerce to make use of their experiences within the framework of this conference.

He wished success for all the guests in this two-day event, expressing hope that the conference will lead to signing valuable documents that will pave the way for the next editions of the event.

Also speaking at the event, ACD Secretary General Pornchai Danvivathana underscored the need for the member states to pursue common issues.

Danvivathana said that the first edition of this conference was held in Turkey in 2021 where participating members stressed the significance of holding such conferences.

He noted that holding such events is of key importance as they can ensure enhanced dialogue among the 35-member ACD bloc.

The official also called for creating standards and regulations in the area of investment among the member states, highlighting the vital role of the chambers of commerce in this regard.

He said that it is likely that the next edition of the conference will be held in Qatar, however calling on the other member chambers of commerce to announce their readiness if they like to host this event.
