Youngest Iranian Female Pilot Flies Airplane

SHIRAZ The 19-year-old Iranian female pilot made her first training flight on Tuesday in southern Iran to mark the "Woman's Day" marked in Iran on the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (SA), daughter of the Prophet Mohammad (S).
Maryam Pakshir, said to be the youngest Iranian female pilot and the first lady to be admitted to Shiraz Air Navigation Center since the 1979 Islamic Revolution conducted two flights, each with a crew of two on board.
"I am proud of being able to fly as the youngest female pilot," she said, urging women to try to overcome problems facing them.
She hoped to fly passenger planes in the future.
