MP Says People to Await Democracy Patiently

HAMEDAN Deputy from Hamedan in the Parliament Hossein Loqmanian said on Wednesday the public should await the democracy patiently.
Speaking in a gathering of university students in the Hamedan's branch of the Islamic Iran Participation Party (IIPP), Loqmanian stated that the democracy needs further time to be institutionalized in Iran.
Three years are not sufficient for the democracy to be established in the country, he said, adding that such short time was just an opportunity for an exercise or an examination of the democratic system to create a civil society.
Loqmanian pointed out that the political parties and the press play key roles in bringing about the democracy in the country since the democracy could not be established overnight.
The MP said to establish the democracy, the groups, parties and the press circles should cooperate and converge their attitudes.
Efficient and true parties should prevent the provisional and extremist movements and contribute to the creation of a civil society, he stressed.
The Majlis deputy went on to say that the MPs are committed to their previous mottoes and promises as for supporting the reforms.
He concluded by saying that the Iranian society has to undergo many ups and downs before attaining the democracy and that is why the youth should avoid being impatient.
