TEHRAN The youth team of Iran trounced the Omani team here yesterday to top Group A of Asian Soccer Championships.
Supported by a home crowd of over 12,000 in Shahid Shiroudi Stadium, Iran found the net of Oman three times in the 65th, 66th and 80 minutes to record a winning streak of three games.
The Iranian archrival Japan is the second-placed team, having two wins and one tie.
Iran will play Japan at 15:30 tomorrow.
