MASHHAD, Khorasan Province Iran's biggest pro-reform caucus, the Islamic Iran Participation Party (IIPP), is to launch a daily instead of its banned daily Mosharekat (Participation), a campus newsletter quoted a core member of IIPP as saying here Saturday.
"Khoroush" which is affiliated to the Islamic Association of Students in Mashhad Azad University quoted Mohsen Mirdamadi as saying that their new daily would hit the newsstands in one month.
Mosharekat, along with several others, was ordered closed in succession since early April, in a mass crackdown on publications ordered by the Judiciary. Some 23 publications have now been suspended.
IIPP headed by Mohammadreza Khatami, the younger brother of President Mohammad Khatami, holds the majority in the Parliament (Majlis).
Khatami was the top vote-getter in Feb. 18 parliamentary polls.
