265 New Books Published During Past Week in Iran

TEHRAN The Book House Institute, affiliated to the Tehran Municipality, announced that 265 new books were published across the country during the past week, while 221 books were reprinted for the second or third time.

According to an IRNA report, the books were published in 2,233,259 copies with an average of 4,599 copies for each title.

The literature books topped the other genres with 121 titles, followed by the popular scientific works with 78 titles, natural sciences and arithmetics with 70 titles, social science books with 53, religious works with 50, language books with 49 titles, history and geography with 24, philosophy with 18, general subjects with 12 titles and arts with eleven titles. New titles comprised 55 percent of the last week printed books.
