NEW DELHI -- The activities of militant outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad are helping communal elements to create anti-Muslim atmosphere in India, said Shahi Imam.

The Shahi Imam, Syed Ahmad Bukhari in a press statement released here, a copy of which was received Wednesday by IRNA said that activities of these Pakistan-based organizations, would not only increase communal hatred in India but would also affect the peace process in Kashmir.

The announcement of unilateral cease-fire by Indian government and positive response by the government of Pakistan shows that both governments are realizing the need to find out an amicable solution to Kashmir issue in order to defuse the tension in the region.

To create favorable atmosphere the government must release the innocent imprisoned Kashmiri Muslim youths, to confine military activities and to grant amnesty to those militants who have left the state and allow them to return to their homes, Shahi Imam suggested.
