BORDEAUX, France Two dogs savaged a 77-year-old woman to death in southwest France as she walked past her home on the way to a neighbor, police said on Wednesday.

The attack by a German shepherd and a smaller dog happened on Tuesday in the small town of Salies-De-Bearn in the Pyrenees-Atlantique region. Police said the woman, Marie Abadie, was found dead with deep bite wounds when help arrived. The dogs were impounded and put down.
