Joint Meeting of Iranian and Kazakh Businessmen

ALMATY Iranian Tradesmen, attending a ten-day specialized fair on industrial products of northern Iranian provinces opened in Almaty (the former capital city of Kazakhstan) on June 24, conferred here Saturday with their Kazakh counterparts.

Some 30 delegates from Kazakh enterprises attending the session negotiated issues of interest with Iranians.

Iran's envoy to Kazakhstan, Hassan Qashqavi cited the total amount of trade exchange between the two countries during the past year adding up to $400 millions.

He expressed hope that holding such fairs will boost mutual ties, especially in trade exchange.

Kazakhstan's Deputy Minister of Communications and Transport Vadim Zurkov told IRNA that the quantity of Iran-Kazakhstan trade exchange does not comply with economic capabilities of the two countries.

He expressed hope that the two countries will bolster their trade exchange, by holding such fairs as well as joint commercial and economic conferences continuously.

Some 45 enterprises attending the ongoing trade fair are displaying their products in five categories including home appliances, clothing, foodstuff, hygienic and construction materials, chemical detergents, automobile spare parts and agricultural crops.

The ongoing trade fair is organized by the General Department of Mazandaran Province Bureau of the Commerce Ministry.
