Over $2m of Pharmaceutical Products Exported

TEHRAN Some 545 tons of pharmaceutical products valued at $2.30 million were exported during March-June this year registering a 31.4 percent growth in terms of weight and 99.4 percent growth in terms of value compared to the corresponding period last year, announced the Deputy Director of Export Promotion Center of Iran, Hossein Soltani here on Sunday.
Over 55 pharmaceutical companies are now producing 1,000 types of medicines for human and veterinary use, he said.
Central Asian and Caucasian countries, Lebanon, Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Syria, Egypt, Sudan, Canada, Pakistan and Afghanistan are among the major importers of pharmaceutical products from Iran, he said.
He underlined that marketing is among the responsibilities of the export promotion center of Iran.
The center has dispatched commercial delegations to China, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Morocco and Turkey and is to send another delegation to the Baltic countries and Poland to explore market prospects.
